Upon your arrival we will meet you at the Santa Marta airport or your hotel and transport you directly to Casa Guachaca where you can enjoy yourself in the private gardens and rooms while acclimatizing yourself to your sunny new home away from home. Pick our guides brains about your upcoming adventure and tuck in for a comfortable nights rest. As always all applicable meals are included.

Day 2
FInca Hike

Start your day with a breakfast cooked to order. Board one of our skilfully driven 4x4 vehicles, accompanied as always by your Canadian guide. After an hour ride we arrive at the literal end of the road. Welcome the safe and welcoming indigenous village of El Encanto. Enjoy quick snack before we begin our 1.5 to 2 hour hike through the foothills of the Sierra Nevada. Joined now by the local host, our Canadian guides will happily recount the information shared by this amicable Colombian farmer, as well as answering any questions you may have regarding your beautiful surroundings. Immediately upon arrival at our final destination enjoy a tasty lunch and a well deserved lounge in hammocks or your private lodging as you soak in your new environment. Revel in the myriad species of birds, examine the gardens, discover the vistas and explore the farm homestead at your leisure. Dinner will be served shortly before sundown so you can watch the stars come out.

Day 3
Finca Adventure

After a leisurely breakfast including fruits, vegetables and eggs sourced directly from the farm you are sleeping at, you begin your day in paradise. Watch the mist rise off the cloud forest and witness a beautiful sunrise. Be a spectator or try your hand at panning for gold, fishing, foraging fruits or simply relaxing by the river all exactly as a native Colombian would. For lunch you will enjoy a Sancocho. This uniquely Colombian chicken and vegetable soup is prepared right before your eyes at the rivers edge. (Vegetarian or other options are also available) Spend your afternoon either relaxing or exploring, always with a guide nearby to answer questions and ensure you feel safe and comfortable. An excursion to a neighbouring farm to learn about coffee and chocolate plants and harvesting processes is available at this time, for those extra energetic adventurers.

Day 4
Back to Reality

After another delicious breakfast you will be sad to say goodbye to the wonderful farm, but excited for your next adventure.

Following your return hike to Encanto, happily mostly downhill this time, you can take a closer look at the indigenous village. A wonderful opportunity to learn more about the Wiwa culture and people. A picnic lunch created by our Canadian trained chef will fortify you for the beautiful waterfalls ahead.

A beautiful waterfall awaits you, a 100% private experience. You'll have the cascade to yourself with no other sign of tourists. Bask in your surroundings at the waterfall, nearly unknown to outsiders, and a large cool lagoon for swimming. When you are ready we will begin our 4x4 return trip back into reality. Enjoy a homecooked dinner and relax in the private garden or your own suite at Guachaca house as you unwind from your life-changing experience.

Choose Your Own Adventure

1 km of exposed granite with multiple waterfalls and pools for you to swim in. Tiny fishies will swim around you as your guides teach you about some of the local flora and fauna. Full time lifeguard on duty.

Monkey Safari! Let's go on a gentle hike through a corner of Tayrona National Park to go see some of the endangers Titi monkeys (Cotton Top Tamarins) and Colombian Red Howler monkeys. You never know what other wildlife you will cross paths with. The hike ends at an empty Caribbean beach.

Waterfalls! Come visit this beautiful hidden gem. A short hike through the jungle to our destination where you can swim in multiple pools. Bring your camera for some stunning shots.

Want seemingly endless empty beach. Let us take you to one of our favourite spots where you can enjoy the sun, waves, mountains and solitude without being bothered by another soul. We provide you with sunshade, drinks and snacks.

Palomino is a trendy tourist town perfect for souvenir shopping, beach vendors and bars. Enjoy exclusive access to one of the more popular hostels to meet new people, enjoy some cocktails and take in the waves.

Learn the history of the second city in the Americas to be founded by Europeans. More than 500 years of history is on display. Learn how many times pirates burnt down the city, prepare to be impressed by the gold artifacts from the local indigenous people. This attraction pairs very nicely with the Centro Historico attraction.

Take a guided walking tour through the Spanish colonial historic centre of Santa Marta. Take in some shopping, admire the architecture and discover more about Santa Marta.

A hedge maze to delight and confound you. Based off of the best selling novel 100 Years of Solitude, prepare to get lost and find yourself again while learning about Colombia's famous author and his works.

Enjoy the jungle as you float down a river. Your drinks will accompany you as you get to see wildlife in their natural habitat. The cool waters will refresh you, and you'll have a trained lifeguard attending you at all times.

A day trip to Minca, Colombia's ecological capital. You'll experience easy to access jungle. A bird watcher's paradise. If you're keen to see a toucan, this is the place. You'll visit a working coffee farm and a double waterfall.

Tayrona National Park
A beautiful national park that we are happy to guide you through. Having two different entrance points , one a moderate hike and the other a difficult level hiking adventure this one isn't for everyone. For those who love a bit of exercise mixed into their nature excursions the effort is well worth the rewards. Clear swimmable lagoons await you. Your keepsake photos will look something out of the worlds prettiest postcard. If you have accessibility issues this can also be accessed via private boat.

Farewell

Depending on your flight time we will customize your last day to include any pertinent meals and departure times to the Santa Marta airport. Enjoy our gardens, or head out to catch your last gaze at the snow peaks of the mountains before they hide behind their daily veil of clouds.
