Let’s take a walk through an area known for Tokyo’s vibrant nightlife. While it’s home to numerous night entertainment venues like hostess clubs and nightclubs, it also reveals a darker side of the city, where homeless youth once gathered and yakuza presence was more prominent. Don’t worry—during the day to early evening, the area is safe to explore.

3Shinjuku Golden Gai
Next, we’ll head to Golden Gai, another area that preserves the retro atmosphere of old Tokyo. Unlike Omoide Yokocho, Golden Gai has a strong subcultural vibe and was frequented by actors, writers, and other creative minds. It’s a unique bar district with a slightly more exclusive, sophisticated atmosphere.
