This tour is led by an Italian-Japanese couple living in Kyoto and will take you to discover not only the most iconic places in the city, but also the lesser known ones, selected thanks to our direct experience in the area. We will take you through temples, shrines and historic districts, but also to small local craft shops, antiques and hidden cafes, which we discovered in our daily lives. Our look combines the point of view of the Italian traveler with Japanese sensibility, offering an authentic, curated and deeply personal experience. It is not a simple sightseeing tour, but an immersion in the real Kyoto, with the warmth of those who live and love it every day.
We will take the train to reach in about 15 minutes the famous Fushimi Inari Taisha, the shrine with the iconic thousands of red bulls. We will walk along its suggestive paths immersed in nature, discovering the symbolism and spirituality related to the deity Inari.
Sannenzaka and Ninenzaka are two picturesque historic streets leading to Kiyomizu-dera temple. We will stroll through ancient wooden houses, stopping at selected traditional craft shops and Japanese antiques, to discover unique objects and authentic stories.
We will visit the majestic Kiyomizu-dera, one of Kyoto's most iconic temples, known for its wooden rooftop terrace suspended over the hill. We will discover its thousand-year history, the rituals related to pure water and enjoy a breathtaking view of the city.
We will walk Nene no Michi, one of the most fascinating streets in Kyoto, named after the wife of Toyotomi Hideyoshi. Surrounded by temples, gardens and traditional houses, it offers a quiet and poetic atmosphere, ideal for a walk immersed in the most elegant Kyoto.
We will continue with a visit to the Kōdai-ji temple, a refined Zen complex immersed in tranquility, famous for its beautiful gardens, tea pavilion and decorated rooms. A place of great harmony, perfect for immersing yourself in Japanese spirituality and aesthetics. Admission 600¥ per person.
We will arrive in Shijō-dōri, one of Kyoto's main streets, the heart of shopping and city life. Here, those who want can try the traditional art of kyūdō (Japanese archery), an authentic experience starting at ¥2,200.
