Meeting and pickup
Guests arrive at the Crystal Gallery and check in at the front retail counter. A staff member will guide you. Choose from: Option 1 – Gem Panning in the Retail Store (no admission) Option 2 – Inside the Museum (museum admission required).

Get ready for a fun, hands-on adventure the whole family will enjoy! When you arrive at the Crystal Gallery, you'll choose between two gem panning locations:
In the Retail Store – No museum admission required.
Inside the Museum – Includes access to exhibits (museum admission applies).

Regular Gem Panning Sand Bag
Fossil Sand Bag
Medium Bucket
Pay Dirt Large Bucket
Once you’ve made your selection, you’ll head to your flowing sluice, a water channel designed to help you sift through sand like real prospectors. Gently pour your sand or dirt into a screen tray and let the water wash away the grit—revealing colorful gemstones, fossils, or crystals hidden inside.
As you uncover your treasures, use your gem identification chart to learn what you’ve found and take all your discoveries home!
