You will then observe a demonstration by the host, where every movement is performed with care, precision, and intention. After that, you will prepare your own matcha, guided step by step.

By the end of the experience, you will not only know how to make matcha, but also gain a deeper understanding of Japanese culture — and experience a sense of calm.
This experience is an ideal experience for those who are looking for something more meaningful than just a typical tourist activity.

2 bowls of Matcha (one by the host, one made by you or with a companion) and traditional seasonal Japanese sweets are included.
Conveniently located just a 5-minute walk from Subway Karasuma Oike Station.

You may also continue the experience at home—preparing matcha for yourself or for someone special—using carefully selected tea bowls and matcha available for purchase at the venue.

What to expect

This is not just a matcha experience.
In this tea ceremony, you will discover the meaning and philosophy behind each movement—rooted in mindfulness, respect, and Japanese tradition.

Rather than simply learning how to prepare matcha, this experience focuses on why each gesture matters,and the intention behind it.

*The Shared Plan is a group session with other guests.
*To maintain a calm atmosphere, guests with children under 5 years old or requiring an interpreter must book the Private Plan.
If booked incorrectly under the Shared Plan, participation and refunds will not be possible.

*We do not offer standard kimono rental or dressing services. but an optional Uchikake (coat-style kimono) experience is available for ¥1,500 (tax included). Please inform our staff on the day. Advance reservations are not accepted, and Quantities is limited.

*The tea ceremony is held in a serene atmosphere and to avoid disturbing other guests, please note:
・Please bring or wear socks during the experience.
・Entry is allowed from 5 minutes before the start time.
・Once the session begins, the door will be locked. Even 1 minute late entry means you can not join and no refunds will be given.
