    We'll start our tour on Douglas Head, site of tourist attractions from the heyday of Douglas tourism. The view of the capital city and beyond is breath taking. We'll go on to explore the wildlife and beauty of the Marine Drive.

    Travelling South over the famous Fairy Bridge we'll visit the ancient medieval fortress of Castle Rushen and its surrounding historic town. Learn about the defence of the Lord of Mann and his household and the many purposes of this extraordinarily well-preserved castle.

    Your guide will show you round this open air folk museum with its cottages, farms and gardens. Learn about the lives of the hill villagers here 150 years ago and their efforts to protect and save the Manx Gaelic language. A short drive will take us to the beautiful Calf Sound where we can watch for wildlife on land and sea.

    Visit the meeting place of the ancient Manx parliament, the Tynwald, the oldest continuous parliament in the world. Learn about the Island's Viking heritage and how we celebrate our national day, 5th July, when the Tynwald meets in the open air.

    Here we can take in the excellent House of Mannanan museum covering the town's maritime and Viking history. We can visit Peel Cathedral site of St Patrick's monastic settlement from the 5th century, the ancient cathedral and the later fortifications. Many pubs, cafes, restaurants and kiosks cater for all needs. Perhaps you'll try the delicious local ice cream.
