Offered in: English

Discover the spiritual heart of old Tokyo on this intimate private walk through Jindaiji Temple and its surrounding forest.
Along the way, Rei will share the foundations of Japanese Buddhism and the temple's centuries-long history — bringing the stones, rituals, and landscape to life with context rarely offered to visitors.
At Jindaiji, you will enter the main hall and receive an oharai purification ritual performed by the temple's monks — a sacred ceremony using ritual fire that has been preserved here for centuries. An ofuda protective charm is yours to keep.
We will then enjoy handmade soba noodles at a local restaurant, with stories of the land and its food culture woven into the meal.
To close, we find a quiet bench in the forest near the temple, where Chie's handmade nerikiri and freshly prepared matcha tea await — a moment of stillness to end the day.

A fee of 3,000 yen is required to receive purification at Jindaiji Temple. This is included in the participation fee.
