This is more than a tea ceremony - it is a mindful cultural experience you can carry into everyday life. In a calm Kamakura studio, guests first enjoy tea as a participant, then learn the meaning and movements behind the ceremony, and finally prepare and serve matcha themselves. Guided by a certified Urasenke tea instructor with a background in mindfulness coaching, the experience gently connects Japanese tradition with breathing, posture, gratitude, and presence. Unlike many formal tea ceremonies, this session is practiced comfortably at a table, with no kneeling required, and is designed so travelers can recreate the spirit of tea at home. Seasonal Japanese sweets, small-group guidance, and the chance to experience both guest and host roles make it especially personal and memorable.
