A short but important climb takes you to Barafu Camp (4,640m), your base before the summit attempt. Spend the afternoon resting, hydrating, and preparing for your early morning departure to Uhuru Peak.
Start your climb around midnight under the stars. Hike through the arctic zone to reach Uhuru Peak (5,895m), the highest point in Africa, by sunrise. After celebrating at the summit, descend through scree and moorland to Mweka Camp (3,100m) for a well-earned rest.
