Welcome to Shimokitazawa — Tokyo’s chillest neighborhood and my home. Let me show you what makes this place so special, from hidden alleys to the best vintage shops. It’s a side of the city most tourists never get to see.
On this walking tour, I’ll take you to my favorite spots — not the ones in guidebooks, but the ones locals actually go to. Whether you're into thrifting, street photography, Japanese subculture, or just want to relax with good coffee and good conversation, this is the place.
We’ll wander through narrow backstreets, browse unique secondhand shops, spot murals and local art, and take in the laid-back vibe that makes Shimokitazawa so loved. I’ll share local tips along the way — where to eat, what to shop for, and how to enjoy Tokyo like someone who lives here.
We usually meet travelers at Shimokitazawa Station, a lively and convenient area to start the tour. If you're unsure how to get there, just let us know — we’re happy to come to your hotel lobby and guide you to the meeting point if needed.

Meeting Point: Shimokitazawa Station (North Exit)
Vintage Shop District - We’ll begin by exploring Shimokitazawa’s iconic vintage streets, packed with secondhand clothing shops ranging from 80s jackets to reworked kimono pieces. I’ll show you where locals really shop and help you dig up something special.
Record Store Browsing - Next, we’ll dive into a cozy record shop filled with vinyl from Japan and abroad. Whether you're into old-school jazz, city pop, or just love flipping through album art, this stop brings out the neighborhood’s musical soul.
Home Decor & Stationery Spots - We’ll stroll through a few backstreets where you'll find stylish interior items, handmade goods, and beautifully designed stationery. Perfect for picking up a quiet, personal souvenir with real local flair.
Café Break - Time for a breather. I’ll guide you to a relaxed, atmospheric café — the kind locals go to for slow coffee, matcha lattes, or handmade sweets. Great spot to unwind, chat, or snap a few photos.
Izakaya Experience - To finish, we’ll visit a cozy Japanese bar (izakaya) for a drink and light bites. Whether it’s grilled skewers, draft beer, or a glass of sake, this is where locals wrap up the day — and so will we.
