Montmartre, the iconic district in northern Paris often called the “Village,” is renowned for its steep cobblestone streets once home to countless artists, especially painters. Today, it stands among the most visited neighborhoods in the City of Light. That’s why we invite you to discover the authentic, local side of Montmartre by guiding you through its charming hidden streets.
Our tour sets off in front of an iconic Parisian symbol — the Moulin Rouge windmill. From there, we’ll make our way up the hill, passing by the café made famous in the film Amélie and the former residence of Van Gogh. Our first stop brings us to one of Paris’ most celebrated bakeries, a prize-winning master of breads and pastries. Here, you’ll savor one of France’s most beloved treats: a perfectly flaky, buttery croissant. Could there be a more delightful way to begin your morning in Paris?
After discovering how to say “je t’aime” in 250 different languages and hearing the fascinating legend of Paris’ first bishop, we’ll climb a little higher to uncover one of Montmartre’s most charming squares — once home to Pablo Picasso. Here, you’ll hear captivating tales of the hardships many local artists faced before rising to fame and fortune.
We’ll stroll past one of Paris’ last surviving windmills, now privately owned, before heading down Montmartre’s very own “Champs-Élysées,” lined with some of the most luxurious homes in the capital. From there, your guide will take you through a hidden passageway that unveils not only one of the finest panoramic views of Paris but also one of the most enchanting cobblestone streets in the city.
Next, we’ll arrive at Montmartre’s celebrated vineyards. Perched near the top of the hill, they offer sweeping views over the Parisian suburbs and produce a surprisingly delightful red wine. Just across from the vines stands the legendary cabaret, Le Lapin Agile, where your guide will share the whimsical tale of Lolo, the painting donkey.
Our final stop is the iconic Basilica of Sacré-Cœur, where we’ll pause to admire the church from a little-known vantage point, offering a unique perspective few visitors ever see. From there, we’ll conclude with a breathtaking panoramic view of Paris — the perfect grand finale. Before parting ways, be sure to ask your guide for insider tips on the best things to see and do during the rest of your stay in Paris.
