Under the Welf duke Henry the Lion, it developed into a powerful and influential city in the 12th century.

Our walk begins at the historic Baker's Club. Passing the time-honoured Martino-Katharineum grammar school with its famous students, you will pass the medieval Old Town Market to the Jakob-Kemenate. Now it is not far to the Bone Hauerstrasse. After a short stop we continue to the picturesque Michaelisviertel, which has its own exciting stories to tell.
