You also have the option to add an Arabic calligraphy session with a local artist, to personalize your creation and bring home a one of a kind artwork that blends language and craftsmanship.

What to expect

Dive into the age-old art of Berber pottery in Guellala, the iconic village of Djerbian ceramics.

Your experience begins with a guided tour of the workshop led by a master potter, who will explain the traditional techniques of shaping, wheel-throwing, and firing local clay.

After a live demonstration on the potter’s wheel, you’ll create your own piece—a bowl, plate, or vase—with the artisan’s help. You can take your creation home or choose to have it fired and decorated.

As an optional add-on, join an Arabic calligraphy workshop where a local artist will teach you how to inscribe your name or a symbolic word onto your pottery.
