Walking in and around the stunning Victorian oasis that is Sefton Park, you’ll see why it was named in 2024 by The Times as one of the Best Places To Live in the UK, Sefton Park stretches lazily across 235 acres of tranquil, stunning landscapes and waterways. It is a true gem in our city’s crown, with a fascinating history of it’s own, but the park’s role as home and inspiration to so many musicians over the years since it opened, as a backdrop, as artists’ muse and even today as a live venue is what we’re here to talk about. From Bjork to the Bunnymen, from early Arctic Monkeys to the smash hits of Atomic Kitten to Africa Oyé - The UK’s largest free celebration of African Music and Culture. It’s all here. From George Melly, George Formby and George Harrison to park design legend Edouard André, Jamie Webster and The 1975. From Frankie to The Farm. From to Love to The La’s, Pulp to The Stone Roses...you get the idea. Not everything's about The Beatles (even if we do mention them)!
