Please arrive at the machiya called “Kohaku,” which has red lanterns hanging on a brown wall. At your reserved time, please open the door and come inside.

What to expect

1. Check in at the machiya at your reserved time and tell the host your name.
2. Receive a brief introduction and explanation of tea ceremony from your tea host.
3. Enter the tea room through a special small entrance traditionally used in tea ceremony.
4. Experience the calm and solemn atmosphere of the tea ceremony while learning about its history. Relax and escape from the stress of daily life as you listen to the sound of tea being prepared and enjoy the beautiful garden view and traditional hanging scrolls.
