Upon your arrival in Zhangjiajie, your English-speaking guide will greet you at the airport or train station and escort you to the Zhangjiajie National Forest Park (South Gate) — the first and most iconic entrance to this breathtaking UNESCO World Heritage Site. Your journey begins at the Great Oxygen Bar Square, where you’ll take a peaceful stroll through Golden Whip Stream, surrounded by lush greenery, towering quartz sandstone peaks, and playful monkeys. This area is known for its serene beauty and fresh mountain air. Later, take a cable car up to Huangshizhai (Yellow Stone Village), a panoramic viewpoint offering the best bird’s-eye view of the park. It’s the perfect start to reconnect with nature and gently recover from your travels. Recommended overnight stay: Wulingyuan Scenic Area
Begin your day at the National Park Main Entrance(east gate), and ride the Bailong Elevator, the world’s tallest outdoor sightseeing elevator. In just 88 seconds, you’ll rise along a cliff face to the heart of the Avatar landscape. Walk among the otherworldly stone towers of Yuanjiajie Scenic Area, home to the famous Hallelujah Mountain — the inspiration for the floating mountains in James Cameron’s Avatar. Enjoy scenic trails and breathtaking views of the First Bridge under the Sun and the Sky Garden Platform. Continue to Tianzi Mountain, where layers of mist swirl around dramatic peaks, and feel the ancient power of time and nature in the quartz-sandstone formations that have taken millions of years to form.
Start your day at the Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon Glass Bridge, the longest and highest glass bridge in the world, stretching over a stunning canyon. Feel the thrill as you walk above the abyss — and for the adventurous, you can try ziplining across the valley or take the scenic canyon hike.
In the afternoon, explore Tianmen Mountain, the tallest mountain in Zhangjiajie. Take the world’s longest cable car ride up to the summit, then challenge yourself on the cliff-hugging glass skywalk. Walk up the legendary 999 Steps to Tianmen Cave (Heaven’s Gate), and enjoy a view over the winding Tongtian Avenue, also known as “the road that leads to heaven.” A perfect way to end this unforgettable journey — with awe, adrenaline, and breathtaking beauty.
