    Discover Alambí Reserve, a family-run cloud forest conservation project in the renowned Tandayapa Valley, part of Ecuador’s Andean Chocó biodiversity hotspot. Covering more than 120 hectares between 1,450 and 2,200 meters (4,757–7,218 ft), over 90% of the reserve is primary forest. Enjoy time in its flowering hummingbird garden, where up to 30 hummingbird species have been recorded, and look for colorful tanagers and other native birds. The reserve’s bird list includes more than 250 species, making it an excellent introduction to Ecuador’s cloud-forest wildlife. Guests may also enjoy locally produced coffee and take a short nature walk beside the Alambí River, surrounded by lush vegetation and the sounds of the forest. Admission is not included and is payable on site: US$5 per person.
