Meet your friendly local guide at the entrance of the Gateway of India. 2Elephanta Caves
After reaching the Elephanta Caves, take a short and fun ride on the toy train from the jetty toward the base of the island. From there, walk up approximately 120–130 stone steps, lined with small village stalls, local crafts, and everyday island life. At the top, meet another friendly local guide from the village who will warmly welcome you and lead you through the ancient caves. Discover remarkable sculptures including the Ardhanarishwara Shiva, symbolizing the union of masculine and feminine energy, along with other magnificent carvings as your guide shares fascinating stories, history, and local traditions that bring this UNESCO World Heritage site to life.
