What to expect

Nevado de Toluca Volcano Adventure – A OneDay Nature Escape

Join us for an unforgettable day trip to Nevado de Toluca, a majestic dormant volcano located about two hours from Mexico City, standing at 4,680 meters (15,350 ft) above sea level. The highlight of this trek is reaching the crater, where two mystical alpine lakes— the Lake of the Sun and the Lake of the Moon—await.

️ • Trip Overview:
6:00 AM – Meet and depart from a designated location in Mexico City
8:00 AM – Arrive at Nevado de Toluca & Shuttle ride to the trailhead
Hike around the crater and explore the lakes
Lunch at a local restaurant after descent
4:00–5:00 PM – Return to Mexico City (depending on traffic)

• Difficulty Level:
This is a moderate trek suitable for most people, even beginners. The trail isn’t long, but due to the high altitude, it's essential to walk slowly and steadily. Total hiking time is about 4 hours.
