2Gorkhi-Terelj National Park
Standing at 24 meters (79 feet) tall, Turtle Rock is a granite formation naturally sculpted by wind and rain to resemble a turtle. It’s an iconic symbol of the park and a popular spot for photography and relaxation. According to local legend, the rock is believed to bring prosperity and good fortune to visitors.

1. A Giant Statue: The centerpiece is a 40-meter (131-foot) tall stainless steel statue of Genghis Khan on horseback, the largest equestrian statue in the world. It’s an awe-inspiring sight, with Khan holding a golden whip and looking east toward his birthplace. 2. Panoramic Viewpoint: You can take an elevator up inside the statue and walk out onto the horse’s head, which serves as a viewing platform with sweeping views of the Mongolian steppe. 3. Visitor Center: Inside the base, there’s a museum dedicated to the history of the Mongol Empire, traditional Mongolian culture, and a large boot replica (Guinness record-sized). 4. Surrounding Landscapes: The statue is located in Tsonjin Boldog, about 54 km (33 miles) east of Ulaanbaatar, surrounded by vast open plains, giving a dramatic backdrop.
