    Just over 2 hours drive from Siem Reap we arrive in Battambang and stop at the Lok Ta Dambong Kra Nhoung Shrine , or 'Black Man Roundabout' in the centre of Battambang. Learn the legend behind the statue. Time stated here includes the drive from Siem Reap and 15 mins travel to the next site.

    Wat Somrong is the Killing Fields of Battambang where an estimated ten thousand people were executed in the Temple grounds by the Khmer Rouge. Wander around the beautifully designed stupa monument that has interesting stories and information around the base. Time here includes a 15 minute drive to the next site.

    Phnom (meaning Mountain or Hill) Sampov is the perfect lookout to view the surrounding countryside of Battambang and take in what is the 'rice bowl' of Cambodia. The area is worth a wander around to discover the hilltop Temple and numerous monkeys. Close by is one of the infamous Khmer Rouge Killing Caves. Take the steps down into the cave and pay tribute to the victims of the Khmer Rouge at the monument in the cave, with the remains of some carefully preserved. Time allocated here includes the short drive down the mountain to the final stop of the Bat Cave.
