  Boca do Inferno

  The Boca do Inferno is an impressive seafront rock formation located in Cascais. This place owes its name to the darkening sound of the Atlantic waves striking in the natural caves, creating a dramatic spectacle, especially on busy sea days. The rock seems to “engulf” the sea in a deep opening, as if it were the entrance to hell itself — hence the name.   Centro Historico de Cascais

  The historic centre of Cascais is a charming combination of tradition, elegance and beachfront life. An ancient fishing village that became a summer resort of the Portuguese royal family in the 19th century, Cascais preserves pedestrian streets, cosy squares and historic buildings full of color and character.
