Experience two very different sides of Chengdu in one relaxed day — from meeting China’s beloved giant pandas in the morning to wandering through the historic riverside streets of Huanglongxi Ancient Town in the afternoon.
This private tour combines pandas, local history, traditional architecture, and authentic local atmosphere without trying to pack too much into one day. You’ll have time to enjoy each place at a comfortable pace, with flexibility to spend more time on the experiences that interest you most.

1Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding (Panda Base)
In the morning, your guide will meet you at your hotel and accompany you to the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding. The drive takes approximately 40 minutes, depending on traffic. The panda base is one of the best places to see giant pandas in a natural and peaceful environment. We’ll explore the panda enclosures and, if possible, observe these adorable animals during their morning activities. Since pandas are most active in the cooler hours of the day, the morning is a wonderful time to visit. You’ll have plenty of time to watch the pandas eating bamboo, playing, climbing, and relaxing. Your guide will also share some interesting stories about giant pandas, their diet, daily habits, and conservation efforts.

2Huanglongxi Ancient Town
After lunch, we’ll continue to Huanglongxi Ancient Town, located about 40–50 minutes from Chengdu. Huanglongxi is a charming historic town with a history of more than 1,700 years. It is known for its traditional old streets, wooden houses, stone bridges, riverside scenery, and peaceful local atmosphere. The town has also been used as a filming location for many Chinese movies and TV dramas. We’ll take a relaxed walk through the old streets, explore the small lanes and traditional buildings, and enjoy the riverside atmosphere. There will also be time to stop for a local snack or a cup of tea if you’d like. The afternoon will be kept flexible, so you can enjoy Huanglongxi at a comfortable pace rather than rushing from one place to another.
