This is the first glance of the whole National Park. Here is possible get a zoom-out view of National Park with the biggest lake of the region on our side.
We will arrive to ¨Portería Rio Serrano¨. This is the southwestern entrance to the National Park.
After the entrance point, this is the first stop. We have an easy 3 min walk, one way, to the lookout of the Hotel Lago Grey. From here, in a clear day is possible to see the Grey Glacier in front of us, about 15km in straight line. In case you want to have a short-flat walk, we can do it in between the deciduous forest that is possible to find here.
Lake Pehoe is a must stop. In this place we will have the southern view of the National park, facing the majestic Cuernos (the Horns) with its incredible colors, the highest peak of the region and the french valley. At its feet, the deep blue color of the lake create its unique contrast. After this stop, depending on the schedule, we will have lunch while mesmerized by the view.
We have two options, that depends on the guest: 1.- Don´t want to walk: we are going to stop in the lookout in-front of the waterfall, about 100mt in straight line. That stop will be for about 5min. 2.- Want to walk: we will drive to the parking area and walk 10 min, one way, in what we call "Patagonian Flat" trail. It means, some ups and down, but nothing hard. Once in the 1st lookout, you got the waterfall 10mt away, and few meter further, the rapids lookout with closer view of the south face of the NP. NOTE: This trail is usually the windiest trail in the NP. So, we will take the final & safest decision once parked.
Quick stop in the last lookout facing the south face.
Great stop face the Towers and the waterfall at the same time. This stop, show us the beginning of the Paine River, the only river that feeds the rest of the previous lakes with its water, ending on the lake Toro. Here, you can get one of the best shots of the 3 towers of the NP.
This is the last stop before aheading back to Puerto Natales. In a clear day, the view of the towers is impressive, this is the best place for the towers reflections, if weather and winds allow it.
