Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, you’ll be greeted and transferred to your hotel in the vibrant Thamel area. Later, you’ll meet your guide for a trek briefing and permit preparation. Spend the evening exploring local shops or enjoying Nepali cuisine at a rooftop restaurant.
Choose between a 6–8 hour overland drive or a quick 25-minute flight to Pokhara. This peaceful city, nestled beside Phewa Lake with stunning views of the Annapurna range, is your gateway to the Himalayas. Take the evening to relax or explore the lakeside cafes and vibrant night markets.
After breakfast, drive for 1.5 hours to Nayapul, the trek’s starting point. Walk along a gentle path to Birethanti and Tikhedhunga before tackling a steep ascent of over 3,000 stone steps to reach Ulleri village, offering your first close-up views of Annapurna South.
The trail continues uphill through dense rhododendron and oak forests, passing beautiful waterfalls and Magar villages. You’ll arrive in Ghorepani, a popular village with panoramic views and a cool alpine atmosphere, just below the famous Poon Hill viewpoint.
Wake up early and hike to Poon Hill to witness a spectacular sunrise over Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, and Machapuchare. After descending back to Ghorepani for breakfast, trek through enchanted forests filled with birds and moss to reach Tadapani.
Today’s trail descends steeply to a stream and climbs again through terraced farmland and forests to reach Chhomrong a large, scenic Gurung village with stunning views of Annapurna South and the sacred Fishtail (Machapuchare) peak.
Start by descending to the river and climbing back up to Sinuwa, then continue through lush bamboo forests and serene terrain. Pass through Bamboo and Dovan before reaching Himalaya, nestled in a quiet gorge surrounded by cliffs and waterfalls.
Ascend past Deurali and MBC with breathtaking views as the forest gives way to open alpine meadows. After a gradual climb, you’ll arrive at Annapurna Base Camp, surrounded by towering peaks. Sunset here is magical, with Annapurna I glowing in golden light.
After an early sunrise over the Annapurna range, begin descending the same route through MBC, Deurali, and Dovan to reach the forested area of Bamboo. The descent is easier but long, so take your time and enjoy the views.
Trek uphill to Chhomrong, then descend steeply to Jhinu Danda. In the afternoon, treat yourself to a dip in the natural hot springs by the riverside a soothing reward after days of trekking.
Take a short trek to Siwai or Nayapul and drive back to Pokhara. Celebrate your journey with a lakeside dinner, a massage, or simply relax while reflecting on your achievement.
Fly or drive back to Kathmandu. Depending on your flight schedule, you can either head straight to the international airport or spend an extra night in the city. Your Annapurna adventure concludes here.
