This water-filled slot canyon offers a completely different experience from the dry, crowded routes closer to Moab—making the 1.25-hour drive well worth it for those looking for something truly special.

Located between Moab and Hanksville, this canyon features a rare combination of narrow sculpted slot sections and playful pools, creating a fun, immersive journey that feels more like exploration than a hike.

Because of its remote location and limited access, this canyon sees far fewer visitors than more popular destinations, rewarding those who make the drive with solitude, unique terrain, and a true off-the-beaten-path adventure.

If you’re deciding how to spend a hot day outdoors, this canyon is an excellent option. While the approach can be warm, the shaded canyon and frequent swims make the experience especially rewarding once inside.

What to expect

This guided adventure takes place in a remote, lesser-known slot canyon approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes from Moab, designed for adventurous groups/families looking to get off the beaten path. The experience blends desert hiking, light technical terrain, and immersive canyon exploration, including some wading and swimming.

Once at the canyon, the route includes approximately 3 miles of hiking through desert terrain, weaving through sculpted sandstone corridors, narrow passages, and open canyon sections. Along the way, you’ll encounter wading and swimming through pools, unique rock features, and engaging terrain that makes this canyon especially memorable.

The route includes one 80-foot rappel and several sections requiring partner-assist movement, adding a fun, interactive element to the experience. Your guide will manage all technical aspects, provide instruction as needed, and ensure safe movement throughout the canyon.

This canyon is especially well suited for hot-weather days, offering shade and water-filled sections that provide natural relief from the desert heat, while still being approachable for fit beginners with a sense of adventure.
