Ready for a local off-road experience in Bávaro, Punta Cana?
Start at a traditional ranch in Macao, a real Dominican community away from the resort areas. After check-in and a short safety orientation, enjoy tastings of chocolate, coffee, tea, and mamajuana, then choose your ride.
Buggy is easy to drive and offers muddy fun, ATV provides a more technical ride with less splash, Kayo is the premium option with more power and comfort.
Bring a bandana and sunglasses, trails can be dusty or muddy depending on weather.
Ride through countryside off-road trails to a natural cenote in El Salado, take a short dip to cool off and grab quick photos.
Independent local vendors may be present, simply say no, thank you if you are not interested.
Continue to Macao Beach, relax, rinse off, and take photos, waves can be strong so swim with care.
Return to the ranch to view and purchase tour photos and browse local souvenirs, optional.
Daily departures at 8:00 AM, 12:00 PM, and 3:00 PM.
Pick-up is included from all resorts in Bávaro, Punta Cana, Cap Cana, Uvero Alto, and Macao. If you are staying in an Airbnb or residential area, you may go to the security gate of the nearest hotel or to one of our meeting points. You will receive your exact pick-up time the night before your excursion. If your hotel is not on the list, contact us and we will assign a nearby meeting point. You may also arrive directly at the ranch if you prefer to come on your own. Same-day bookings are accepted and transportation is guaranteed. Pick-up generally occurs 1 hour before your tour time, and up to 1 hour and 30 minutes during high season or for distant hotels. Please be at your assigned pick-up point 10 minutes before your scheduled time. The driver will call your name three times. If you are not present, it will be considered a no-show, and no-shows are non-refundable and cannot be rescheduled. Please note that depending on the season, some hotels only allow pick-up at the hotel gate (not the lobby). Cap Cana, however, is always picked up at the lobby and does not require an access pass to enter.
After hotel pick-up, arrive at a traditional Dominican ranch in Macao where the adventure begins. You’ll receive safety instructions, complete check-in and liability forms, and be assigned your reserved vehicle (ATV, Buggy, or Kayo). While waiting, you can explore the local artisan market and prepare for the ride.
Begin the off-road ride through rural trails and countryside paths until reaching a traditional plantation. Here, you’ll learn how Dominican coffee, cacao/chocolate, tea, and mamajuana are made, followed by tastings of all products. Purchasing these items is completely optional.
Continue riding to Los Hoyos del Salado, a natural Taíno cave filled with crystal-clear freshwater. Take a refreshing dip, jump into the water, or simply enjoy the scenery and photos before continuing the adventure. During high season, this area may be shared with other tours, and independent local vendors may be present. They are not part of our operation.
Ride through open countryside trails before arriving at Macao Beach, one of the most iconic and natural beaches in the region. Enjoy time to relax, rinse off, take photos, and experience the natural waves of this unspoiled shoreline. Local vendors and animals may be present and are not affiliated with the tour.
After the beach stop, ride back to the ranch where you can view tour photos and browse souvenirs before returning to your hotel.
