When you arrive at Baltra airport, a guide will carry a sign with the passengers’ names to transfer them to the first visit and then to the hotel where the passengers will stay and for the tours they will be picked up from the hotels. On the last day they will pick up the passengers from the hotel to transfer them to Baltra airport.
Upon arrival at Baltra airport, you will be transferred to Santa Cruz Island (approximately 45 minutes journey). Before visiting the upper area, but first, we will stop at the Twin Craters, a pair of sinkhole craters, one on each side of the road, hence its name. Here you will have the opportunity to observe the famous forest of Escalecía, a plant endemic to the Galapagos Islands and one of the favorite habitats of the finches. Then we will head to the Lava Tunnel to appreciate the volcanic formations of the archipelago. This pleasant hike will take you to the impressive reserve of turtles, where you can admire the giant Galapagos turtles in their natural habitat, as well as the birdlife and endemic vegetation. Lunch at the ranch. Transfer to the hotel. Accommodation in Santa Cruz.
Breakfast. The tour starts in the morning. The bay tour consists of visiting La Lobería a small island about 10 minutes inside the bay, where a large colony of sea lions is located. It offers an excellent environment for swimming with the pups and playful youngsters. The Shark Canal and the Lover's Canal are two charming snorkeling spots and also beautiful spots to watch blue-footed boobies, which are regularly seen lounging on nearby cliffs. Playa Perros offers the opportunity to land and walk through cactus forests to a remote beach where you will almost certainly encounter one or more marine iguanas, and turtles are often seen feeding near the shore. The last place is Las Grietas, a water-filled crack in the rocks. The water is cool and crystal clear, ideal for snorkeling.
As you walk the trail to the beach, you will pass through an area of arid vegetation full of birds. Your expert naturalist guide will help you identify numerous species, such as Darwin's famous finches. When you arrive at the beach, you will enjoy a magnificent tropical landscape: coralline white sand and breaking turquoise waves, in this place we will find among the mangroves the "dragons of Galapagos" (marine iguanas) and suddenly be surprised with a large natural pool that the bay itself is. This is what we will experience at Turtle Bay. Return to Puerto Ayora.
Breakfast. We will pick you up from the hotel and transfer you to Puerto Ayora Pier. Depending on the availability of the day, you can choose one of these tours: Las Tintoreras Arrival in the magnificent town of Puerto Villamil. Las Tintoreras is one of the best known places on Isabela Island. This small islet is named after reef sharks, also known as whitetip sharks, which can be seen swimming along with fish and sea lions in the channels when the tide is out. To get there, we will have to sail approximately 10 minutes from the port. The islet consists mainly of lava rocks. Pinzon Island Lunch on board This is one of the best places to snorkel. It is fascinating to observe banks of small tropical fish, accompanied by parrotfish, labs and sometimes sea turtles or white-tipped ocean sharks. After a fantastic time at sea, it will be time to relax on a beautiful beach.
Breakfast. We will pick you up from the hotel to transfer you to Baltra airport and take the flight to Quito/Guayaquil to connect with your international flight back home.
