What to expect

Experience one of Mexico City’s most exciting high-altitude day hikes and summit Pico del Águila (3,880m / 12,729ft), the highest point in the Ajusco range right on the edge of the city. We’ll take the legendary Devil’s Backbone route, a beautiful and adventurous ridgeline with panoramic views, volcanic rock formations, and a true alpine feel — all without leaving the capital.

This hike is perfect for adventurous travelers, nature lovers, photographers, and anyone training for higher mountains in Mexico or abroad. It’s challenging but accessible: expect steady climbing, open ridgelines, pine forest, and fresh mountain air.

We go at a comfortable pace and take breaks — the goal is to enjoy the day, not rush.
