Step back in time on this sunset walking tour through the heart of Hvar’s old town.
Wander cobblestone streets as your local guide brings centuries of history to life, from the power struggles between noble and common classes to the birth of Europe’s first public theatre. Discover the tradition of UNESCO-protected lace, and gain insights into the daily life of Hvar’s people, past and present. Along the way, you’ll pass picturesque stone alleys, dramatic architecture, and charming local spots — perfect for snapping unique shots.
The tour begins at the Arsenal, and ends at the hilltop fortress, just in time to watch the sunset over the Pakleni Islands, a truly unforgettable view.
There you’ll have time to photograph the breathtaking panoramic views of the islands and the town below.
You can choose to stay at the fortress for a drink as the sun goes down, or descend back to the city center with your guide.
Walking level: easy to intermediate (100 m elevation).

What's Included

Local licensed guide
This is primarily a walking tour, including a 20-minute walk to the fortress. If needed, a taxi can be arranged at the traveler's expense.
Please note that any beverages purchased at the bar are not included in the tour price.
Entrance fee to the Fortress is 10 Euro. If you want to enter the theatre as well, you can get a combined ticket for both landmarks for 15 Euro.

We’ll meet in front of the Arsenal — it’s a large, historic building with a big arch, easy to spot. I’ll be there 10 minutes before the tour starts, holding a sign that says "History and Sunset Walking Tour of Hvar Town" and wearing my official tour guide badge, so you can find me easily.
