Located beside the Old Burying Point Cemetery, this solemn memorial honors the 20 innocent victims of the 1692 Salem Witch Trials. Dedicated in 1992, it features inscribed granite benches bearing each victim’s name and final words—a powerful reminder of the dangers of fear and injustice.
Established in 1637, the Old Burying Point Cemetery—also known as Charter Street Cemetery—is Salem’s oldest burial ground and one of the oldest in the United States . This historic cemetery is the final resting place of several notable figures, including Judge John Hathorne, a magistrate involved in the Salem Witch Trials.
