Visit the oldest Engenho in Brazil

1 hour 15 minutes (approximately)
Offered in: Portuguese and 1 more

Here, time runs differently. The visitor not only hears about the history of the cachaça — he lives it, between the aroma of the caypira yeast and the heat of direct fire. Engenho Boa Vista is not a scene: it is a living organism, where every detail carries centuries of tradition. The real spice lies in authenticity — a cachaça made as it always was, in a place where past and present continue to meet in the alambic.

What to expect

During this experience at the Engenho Boa Vista, the oldest alambique in Brazil in operation, visitors get to know the history of the place, which belonged to the Tiradentes family.
The visit includes an explanation on the process of artisanal production of cachaça, which preserves traditional techniques such as the use of direct fire and caypira yeast made with water mill fubá.
At the end, a guided tasting of three own labels is conducted, following the methodology of the Engenho, which teaches the visitor to appreciate the cachaça with attention to the senses - valuing aroma, taste and texture in a conscious and pleasant way.
