Set against the stunning backdrop of Weligama Beach, this 1.5-hour surf lesson is designed for both beginners and intermediate surfers. With expert guidance from certified instructors, you’ll learn essential techniques like paddling and popping up while catching your first waves in a supportive setting. The small group size ensures personalized attention, making it easy to grasp the fundamentals of surfing. After a safety briefing and land practice, you’ll hit the waves and experience the thrill of riding in Sri Lanka’s tranquil waters.

Pickup points
You can choose a pickup location at checkout (multiple pickup locations are available).
Pickup details:

After we pick you up from the bus station or train station, we will start the surf class after a tea or coconut drink. Then we will explain the basics and safety before training in the sea for about an 1h30.

The surf school is located on Weligama beach in front of the hotel Chilli Bay. If you have any trouble to reach the school, please contact us on whatsap or local number.

What to expect

Meeting the people with tea or coconut, understanding the level of the student and their expectations.

15 minutes explanation about safety and balance on the board on the Beach
1h15 practise in the sea according to your level
Soft board for beginners for the four five first classes (depend on the student) and then practise on hard board.
