  During the visit to the Casa Montejo Museum, travelers will get to know one of the few houses of the 16th century that are still preserved from the Viceregal period in Mexico.   Cathedral de Merida

  At this point of the tour travelers will know the Cathedral of San Ildefonso, the oldest in mainland Mexico and one of the first built in America.   In this neoclassical building, visitors will admire the murals by the artist Fernando Castro Pacheco, which narrate with visual force the history of the Mayan people and the conquest of Yucatán.   Considered the most important cultural venue in Merida, this neoclassical theater opened in 1908 hosts operas, concerts and shows. Visitors will learn about its history, architecture and details such as the fresco of the ceiling of the main hall and the splendor of its interior dome.
