This tour aims to fill a gap that seems to me to be serious in the tourism sector in Coimbra, to show those who visit us some of our typical stores in the historic area, and our traditions. Extraordinary new ideas have sprung up, and old businesses have remained... but they face stiff competition from the online market and shopping centers. Few who visit us know what to try or which establishments to visit. They don't know, for example, that there Coimbra's typical weaving store (with the opportunity to see the work), or traditional soaps from the region, but also vinyls, or even socks produced in this area, or even handmade ceramics from the city.

Tourists will always have some time to visit the stores, if they wish, and do their shopping

Local commerce deserves to be valued! Tourists deserve to know what to buy and where to buy typical local/national products, they deserve to fully enjoy Coimbra. Are you ready for a great adventure... shall we go?

What to expect

on this tour, we'll get to know the traditions, and some of the old and modern stores typical of downtown and uptown coimbra. A great opportunity to get to know products and activities focused mainly on made in portugal, coimbra, that tourists don't usually get to know when they visit the city. The stores are waiting for us and the owners are eagerly awaiting our visit. In each of the stores, the guide will tell us some brief facts about the store, and we will always give the tourists some time to visit each of the stores in our area.

On our tour, we will visit, for example, a coimbra's typical weaving house a vinyls store, a ceramics school, a typical Coimbra soap store, a Portuguese wine house, or even a Portuguese grocery store, and portuguese chocolate store. We'll also include a visit to an old shopping center in downtown Coimbra... located inside a surprising monument... what could it be? All I can tell you is that there are traces of the original space in the mall

Come and discover fascinating new and old businesses in the historic area of Coimbra.
We will include a local drink (very popular in Portugal) in a famous wine house and a souvenir.
