The trek starts conveniently at the Fjellheisen cable car, a short walk from many popular locations. The meeting point is easily accessible by via a short ride with city bus, taxi, uber or shuttle bus to the cable car station, or a 30-40 minute walk from the city center.
This tour is limited to a small group size of four or less for a more personal experience and more attentive guide. It's even possible for a group to choose a specific route depending on scenery preference (ocean view or fjord view) and difficulty level (easy or moderate).
Keep an eye out for wildlife! There are foxes, hares, ptarmigan and eagles in these forests. Reindeer have also been spotted! Have any questions about the local wildlife, culture or history? Just ask your knowledgeable guide!
The tour also includes a traditional 'lefse' pastry snack and a warm drink for you to enjoy.

Meeting and pickup
Meeting Location: Fjellheisen cable car station base, Sollivegen 12, Tromsdalen, Tromsø. Find your guide waiting with snowshoes beside the cable car station, on the right (facing the mountain), near the corner of the parking lot.
What to expect
Your local guide will equip you with comfortable snowshoes and trekking poles adjusted to your height. Along the trek, take in the incredible views of the surrounding mountains, fjords and Arctic landscape while hearing fascinating facts about the Arctic, Tromsø's history, culture, and wildlife.
Enjoy the sound of mountain streams and singing birds while experiencing the fresh forest air and crunching the snow beneath your feet as you snowshoe. This tour offers a chance at seeing foxes, ptarmigan, hares, and eagles. You might even encounter a reindeer!
Since there’s no hurry, you’ll have plenty of time to take photos, ask questions and fulfill your curiosity.
Your tour also includes a traditional pastry and a warm drink to enjoy during a satisfying break!
