Upon arrival in Jaipur, you will first take an excursion to Amber Fort. Amber Fort is located in Amer, 11 km from Jaipur. Amer fort, popularly known as Amer Palace, is noted for its artistic style of architecture blending traditional Hindu and Rajput elements. Built of red sandstone and white marbles, the fort is aesthetically carved and decorated. Some of the key highlights here are Diwan-e-Aam (Hall of Public Audience), Sukh Mandir, and the most beautiful part of the fort that is Sheesha Mahal (Palace of Mirrors).
Next proceed to City Palace, which is a palace complex including ornamental palaces and other buildings. This 285 year old palace complex was the seat of the Maharaja of Jaipur and major part of the palace is still a royal private residence. The city palace includes Chandra Mahal, Mubarak Mahal, Maharani’s Palace. Mubarak Mahal now houses a museum and displays a wide and unique collection of the royal family such as royal costumes, Pashmina shawls, opulent Benaras silk sarees and other exquisite prints and embroidery. This well maintained palace is adorned with beautiful paintings on the ceilings.
Lastly, you will visit Hawa Mahal, literally the Palace of Winds is a unique five-storey palatial building specially built for the women of the royal family so that they could watch street proceedings without being seen byothers. Hawa Mahal has 953 small ornamental windows (called jharokhas) decorated with intricate latticework, which allows cool air to pass inside and in turn leaving the interiors air-conditioned. Built in 1799, Hawa Mahal is constructed from pink sandstone and displays exquisite blend of Hindu and Islamic design. As the city sightseeing ends, proceed to enjoy a delectable lunch in Jaipur. After lunch travel back to Delhi. Though a long tour it is worth it !!
