What's Included
Meeting and pickup
We offer complimentary pickup from any hotel or lodge within Moshi town. If you're staying outside of Moshi or in a remote area, please contact us in advance to arrange pickup
Your guide will meet you at your hotel or lodge reception in Moshi at the scheduled pickup time. Please ensure you are ready and waiting at least 10 minutes before departure. Look for a guide wearing a Mtallo Tours and Safaris badge or uniform and holding a sign with your name.
What to expect
Your adventure begins with an early morning pick-up from your hotel in Moshi at 7:30 AM, followed by a scenic drive to Marangu Gate, the main entrance to Mount Kilimanjaro. After park registration, the hike starts through the lush rainforest of the famous Marangu Route.
Travelers will walk along well-maintained trails surrounded by giant eucalyptus trees, tropical vegetation, and beautiful forest scenery. The rainforest is home to wildlife such as black-and-white colobus monkeys, blue monkeys, colorful birds, and unique Kilimanjaro plants.
The trek continues to Mandara Hut at 2,700 meters above sea level, where guests can relax, enjoy lunch, and take photos. For those with extra energy, a short walk to Maundi Crater offers breathtaking panoramic views of Mount Kilimanjaro, northern Tanzania, and Kenya on clear days.
After enjoying the scenery, travelers descend back to Marangu Gate through the same rainforest trail before returning to Moshi in the late afternoon. This trip is perfect for experiencing Kilimanjaro’s beauty without climbing to the summit.
