Uratenma is a gourmet town where real Osaka people go. It is a special place where you can eat everything from Japanese, Western, Chinese, Korean, and Italian food in a cluster of small restaurants on the back streets. In Uratenma, instead of eating a lot at one restaurant, Osaka style is to eat one or two popular dishes, have a few drinks, and then quickly move on to the next restaurant. Min Osaka has long been known as the kitchen of the nation, and even today, Osaka is still a gourmet town. And Uratenma is an area that developed because it is right next to the wholesale market called Tenma Market, where fresh ingredients are available. We will visit Tenmangu Shrine, which is dedicated to Sugawara no Michizane. Sugawara no Michizane is said to be the god of wisdom, and Tenmangu shrines can be found everywhere, including Dazaifu and Domyoji.
