Pickup is available from all hotels in Moshi and Arusha, as well as Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) and Arusha Airport (ARK). Please be ready 30 minutes before your scheduled pickup time. If you’re staying outside the main pickup area, we can arrange a meeting point or provide transportation at an additional cost.
Your adventure begins with a drive to Londorossi Gate for registration and a short briefing. After lunch, you start trekking through lush rainforest to Mti Mkubwa Camp. Look out for colobus monkeys and unique forest plants.
You leave the forest and climb into the moorland zone, crossing valleys and ridges before reaching Shira Plateau. Stunning views of Kilimanjaro’s western slopes welcome you to Shira 1 Camp.
A gentle trek across the plateau, allowing your body to acclimatize. Enjoy breathtaking views of Kibo Peak and Mount Meru in the distance. Arrive early at Shira 2 Camp for rest.
Today is an important acclimatization day. You ascend to Lava Tower (4,600m) for lunch, then descend to Barranco Camp. The drop in altitude helps your body adjust to higher elevations.
Begin with the exhilarating Barranco Wall climb, then hike through alpine terrain with rolling ups and downs until you reach Karanga Camp. This is another great acclimatization day.
A short hike takes you to Barafu Camp for a rest and early dinner. At midnight, begin your summit push, trekking slowly to Uhuru Peak (5,895m) for a breathtaking sunrise. After celebrations, descend to Mweka Camp for a well-earned rest.
A gentle descent through the rainforest takes you to Mweka Gate, where you collect your summit certificate. Transfer back to your hotel in Moshi for a hot shower and celebration dinner.
