We pick up all travelers at the meeting point being Arusha/Kilimanjaro Airport, as you land head direct to the arrival hall, our driver will be waiting for travelers with a sign of their names on hand.
After breakfast in Moshi/Arusha you'll be transferred to Marangu Gate for registration and a briefing. Your trek begins through lush rainforest, home to blue monkeys and rich flora. After approximately 4–5 hours of hiking, you'll arrive at Mandara Hut (2,700m). In the afternoon, you may take a short walk to the Maundi Crater for views of Kenya’s interior.
Today’s hike ascends through moorland and heather, offering spectacular views of Mawenzi and Kibo peaks. The trail is open and scenic, taking about 6–7 hours to reach Horombo Hut. Along the way, you may spot giant lobelias and groundsels unique to the region.
This is a vital day for acclimatization. After breakfast, you'll take a guided hike to Zebra Rocks (3,980m) or Mawenzi Ridge (4,300m) for stunning views and to help your body adjust to the altitude. Return to Horombo for rest and preparation for the next day's ascent.
Today you trek through the saddle between Mawenzi and Kibo, a vast alpine desert landscape. The hike is long and steady, taking 6–7 hours, and requires energy conservation ahead of your midnight summit push. Upon reaching Kibo Hut (4,700m), you'll rest, hydrate, and prepare for the final ascent.
You’ll wake around midnight for your summit attempt. Ascend slowly with your guide via Gilman’s Point (5,681m) on the crater rim, then continue to Uhuru Peak (5,895m) — the highest point in Africa. Celebrate briefly before descending back to Kibo Hut for a short rest and then down to Horombo Hut. This is a physically demanding but rewarding 12–16 hour day.
After breakfast, begin your final descent through moorland and rainforest to Marangu Gate (1,860m). The trek takes about 6 hours. Upon arrival, you'll receive your summit certificate before being transferred back to Moshi for a well-earned rest.
