We are responsible for picking up all travelers, so once you arrive at the airport or designated meeting point, please proceed to the arrival hall and wait there. You’ll be in safe hands, our driver will be waiting for you with a sign displaying your name for easy identification. After a warm welcome, you'll be transferred to the next point of your safari journey.
Your safari begins upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO). You will be greeted by a representative from your safari company who will assist with your luggage and provide a tranquil transfer to your lodge. This day is for you to relax, recover from your long journey, and acclimatize to the Tanzanian climate.
After an early breakfast, you'll meet your professional safari guide and embark on the drive to Tarangire National Park. Famous for its massive elephant herds and ancient, towering baobab trees, Tarangire provides a stunning introduction to the African bush. The Tarangire River acts as a magnet for wildlife, especially in the dry season. Expect to see large families of elephants, lions, leopards often seen lounging in trees, giraffes, buffalo, and a dazzling array of birdlife.
Today you venture off the beaten path, heading northeast towards the remote and dramatic landscape of Lake Natron. The journey is an adventure in itself traversing through vast Maasai pastoral lands. The scenery transforms into a stark, beautiful wilderness dominated by the Rift Valley escarpment and the perfect cone of the active Ol Doinyo Lengai volcano "Mountain of God" in Maasai".
A full day to explore the surreal wonders of Lake Natron. This alkaline lake is the primary breeding ground for 2.5 million Lesser Flamingos. A guided walk along the shore (binoculars recommended) reveals vast, shimmering pink flocks. The absolute highlight is a trek up the Engare Sero River to a series of stunning waterfalls and deep, fresh-water pools where you can take a refreshing swim an oasis in the desert. You will also have the opportunity to visit a local Maasai boma (homestead) to learn about their culture and traditions.
After an early breakfast, you begin the long but incredibly scenic journey into the Northern Serengeti, also known as the Serengeti Mara Region. You will enter the park through the remote Klein's Gate. The landscape here is characterized by rolling hills, acacia woodlands, and the iconic Mara River, famed for the dramatic river crossings of the Great Migration (typically July-October).
his entire day is dedicated to the drama of the Northern Serengeti. Your guide will expertly patrol the Mara Riverbanks, searching for massive herds of wildebeest and zebra gathering with nervous energy, poised to cross. Witnessing a river crossing a chaotic, thrilling and awe-inspiring spectacle of nature where thousands of animals brave crocodile-infested waters is an unparalleled wildlife experience. Even outside migration season, the area is rich with resident game, including elephants, topi, kongoni and large predators.
Enjoy a final morning game drive in the north before journeying south towards the heart of the Serengeti, the Central Seronera region. This transfer is a full game drive, allowing you to appreciate the vastness and changing ecosystems of the park. The Central Serengeti is renowned for its year-round excellent game viewing due to its permanent water sources. It's a prime area for spotting leopards in the riparian forests, cheetahs on the plains, and large prides of lions.
After a morning game drive in the Serengeti, you'll begin your journey east, exiting the park and ascending into the lush, green highlands of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You will drive through the cooler, agricultural town of Karatu, known for its coffee and wheat farms. This is a great opportunity to see a different side of Tanzania.
Your final safari day begins with an early descent down the 600-meter wall into the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and natural wonder. The crater's floor is a self-contained ecosystem teeming with an incredible density of animals. It is one of the best places in the world to see the endangered black rhinoceros, as well as large pride of lions, hyenas, elephants, and thousands of wildebeest and zebra. You'll enjoy a memorable picnic lunch by the hippo pool before ascending the crater rim. Afterwards, you begin the drive back to Arusha, where you will be dropped off at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) for your departure flight, filled with unforgettable memories.
