Your safari begins the moment you land at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO). You'll be warmly greeted by a representative from our safari company who will assist you with the transfer to your luxurious hotel in Arusha. You will check in to the Arusha Grand Melia Hotel, haven of luxury and comfort. Settle into your room, relax by the pool, and enjoy the stunning views of Mount Meru. Your guide will meet you for a pre-safari briefing, answering any questions and outlining the exciting days ahead.
Often overlooked, Arusha National Park is a beautiful gem. It offers a completely different landscape from the other parks you'll visit. Today's game drive might include a unique walking safari or a canoeing safari on Lake Momella (optional, at an extra cost), escorted by an armed ranger. You'll see herds of buffalo, giraffes, zebras and colobus monkeys in the montane forest, with the majestic backdrop of Mount Meru. In the evening. return to your familiar Arusha Gran Melia Hotel, experience the comfort of the Melia for a second night.
After breakfast, you'll drive to Tarangire National Park. The landscape transforms dramatically, characterized by ancient baobab trees dotting the savannah. Tarangire is famous for its massive elephant herds and the Tarangire River, which acts as a lifeline during the dry season, attracting vast numbers of wildlife. After a final morning game drive in Tarangire, you'll journey towards the Ngorongoro Highlands. The drive is scenic, passing through Maasai villages and rolling landscapes. You'll check in at your lodge, situated on a working coffee farm, offering a tranquil and beautiful setting. For dinner and overnight you will check inn to Ngorongoro Farm House a unique and charming experience. You can stroll through the coffee plantations, learn about the farming process, and enjoy the cool, fresh highland air.
Today is a highlight. You'll descend 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the world's largest intact volcanic caldera. This natural amphitheater is teeming with an astonishing concentration of wildlife. It's one of the best places in Africa to see the critically endangered black rhinoceros, alongside the "Big Five" (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino). Enjoy a picnic lunch on the crater floor next to a hippo pool. In the evening return from the crater floor to the peaceful Ngorongoro Farm House.
After breakfast, you drive towards the legendary Serengeti. En route, you'll stop at the Olduvai Gorge, one of the most important paleoanthropological sites in the world, often called the 'Cradle of Mankind'. A small museum details the fascinating discoveries made here. You then enter the Serengeti and experience the sheer vastness of the plains on your first afternoon game drive. After a long day of exploring check in to the Serengeti Melia Lodge, a luxurious lodge designed to blend with the environment, offering superb comfort in the heart of the wild.
This entire day is dedicated to the Serengeti. Your guide will tailor the game drives based on the time of year and the location of the famous Great Migration—a relentless movement of over a million wildebeest and zebra. Whether you witness a dramatic river crossing (seasonal) or simply explore the predator-rich plains, the Serengeti promises an unforgettable safari experience. You may also opt for an unforgettable hot-air balloon safari (at an extra cost) for a breathtaking aerial view. Accommodation will be the same as the previous one, the Serengeti Melia Lodge unwind for your final night in the bush, under a canopy of brilliant stars.
Enjoy one last morning game drive in the Serengeti, soaking in the final moments of the wilderness. Afterwards, you will be transferred to the Seronera Airstrip for your scheduled domestic flight back to Arusha Airport (ARK). Upon arrival in Arusha, you will be assisted with a day room (if you have an evening flight) or transferred directly to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) for your international departure, filled with memories to last a lifetime.
