Meeting and pickup

Meeting point
Opéra National de Bordeaux - Grand-Théâtre

We will meet on the steps of the Opera (Grand-Théâtre) in the center of Bordeaux. From there we will take a lovely 10-minute stroll to my apartment, passing high-end boutiques, and charming cafés. If you’d like, we can stop at a local wine shop so you can pick up a bottle to enjoy during the class.

End point
This activity ends back at the meeting point.

What to expect

We’ll meet at the Opera (Grand Theatre) and take a short, scenic stroll down one of the most famous Bordeaux boulevards, passing charming cafés and boutiques. If you wish, we can stop by a local wine shop to pick up a bottle to enjoy with the class.

Once we arrive at my apartment, we'll get to know each other over an apéro—a drink and small bites- and I'll introduce our menu for the evening.

You’ll be provided with your own apron, knife, cutting board, and recipe card. I'll demonstrate the steps and you're invited to participate in the cooking as much or as little as you're comfortable with.

We’ll make the dessert first so it has time to set or bake, and then make a main dish.

Sample dishes we may prepare include:

Vegetable Blanquette
Tomato Tarte Tatin
Chou Farci
Chocolate Mousse
Seasonal Fruit Clafoutis
Verrines

After cooking, we’ll enjoy conversation and laughter over a beautiful candlelit dinner. I’ll also be happy to offer my recommendations for discovering Bordeaux.

Please note: Due to regulations, I cannot serve alcohol, but you are welcome to bring your own wine to enjoy with the class.
