First Stage: Crossing the Red River & Into the Countryside Our adventure starts by crossing the Long Bien Bridge—Hanoi’s oldest bridge, built over 100 years ago during French colonial times. Second Stage: Banana Plantations & Bat Trang Pottery Village We continue cycling through tranquil banana plantations, lush rice paddies, and scenic gardens along the riverbank. Riding along quiet, off-the-beaten-path dirt roads, we reach the 1,000-year-old Bat Trang Ceramic Village—the most famous pottery village in Northern Vietnam. Here, we’ll explore the ancient village, wind through narrow alleys, and visit local workshops to witness skilled artisans creating beautiful porcelain products. You’ll even have the chance to try your hand at pottery—a fun and interactive way to connect with Vietnam’s rich ceramic traditions.
Third Stage: Local Life & Traditional Lunch We’ll stop to visit a local family, where you’ll enjoy tea and candy while chatting with the hosts, with your guide acting as a translator. This is a wonderful chance to learn about daily village life, customs, and culture firsthand. Final Stage: River Breeze, Boat Cruise & Egg Coffee In the afternoon, we cycle through more peaceful villages, open fields, and quiet riverbanks, soaking up the cool breeze of the Red River. This scenic ride offers a deep dive into the charm of the Northern Vietnamese countryside. Eventually, we reach a local boat station, where we’ll board a boat for a gentle cruise on the Red River, returning to Hanoi in a relaxing and unique way.
