Pickup from Arusha around 7:30am depart for Tarangire National Park, a scenic drive of about 2.5 hours. The park is renowned for its ancient baobab trees, sweeping savannahs, and the Tarangire River, which attracts large herds of elephants and other wildlife. On your game drive, you may encounter giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, lions, leopards, and an impressive variety of birdlife. A picnic lunch will be served inside the park before continuing your exploration. In the afternoon, drive to Karatu for dinner and overnight at a comfortable mid‑range lodge - Eileen's Trees Inn or Country Lodge.
Today you will visit one of Africa’s most remarkable natural wonders, the Ngorongoro Crater. After breakfast, drive to the crater rim and descend 600 metres to the floor of this UNESCO World Heritage Site. The crater is home to an extraordinary concentration of wildlife, including wildebeest, zebras, gazelles, hippos, lions, hyenas, and the rare black rhino. Enjoy a picnic lunch at a scenic spot within the crater before continuing your game drive. In the late afternoon, return to Karatu for dinner and overnight at your lodge - Eileen's Trees Inn or Country Lodge.
After breakfast, you will set off for Lake Manyara National Park, nestled at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. Though relatively small, the park is incredibly diverse, with habitats ranging from lush groundwater forests and open savannah to acacia woodlands and the shimmering alkaline lake itself. Your game drive will take you through the forested entrance, where troops of baboons and blue monkeys are often seen. As you continue, keep an eye out for elephants moving gracefully through the woodland, giraffes browsing on acacia trees, and the park’s most famous residents—the elusive tree‑climbing lions. The lake itself is a haven for bird enthusiasts, with flocks of flamingos, pelicans, storks, and over 400 other bird species recorded here. A picnic lunch will be enjoyed in a scenic spot before continuing your exploration. In the afternoon, return to Arusha to your lodge or transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO).
