Explore Edinburgh's culinary landscape with a unique food tour led by a former restaurant owner and professional chef. This immersive experience takes you through up-and-coming Stockbridge, allowing you to savour three authentic Scottish dishes, Irn-Bru, award-winning local cheeses, and discover other hidden culinary gems.
During your leisurely walk, you'll also get a taste of Stockbridge’s history and cast of colorful characters. Ideal for food lovers and travelers seeking a deeper connection with Edinburgh’s history and gastronomy, this is a delightful journey through both flavors and stories. Each tour lasts 1.5 to 2 hours, leaving time after your tour for a nice walk down the Water of Lieth.
There is a very small park near Water of Leith. If you can’t find it, google “Stockbridge Farmer’s Market”. That’s the spot! It’s hard to miss!
We start in Stockbridge Market park.
A tour of Scottish cuisine wouldn't be complete without a taste of classic Scottish meat pie!
At this historic pub, we will taste haggis, neeps, & tatties, Irn Bru, and other classic Scottish dishes. We don't provide alcohol as part of the tour, but if you'd like to get a dram of whiksy, we can talk you through it.
Historically, Stockbridge and Dean Village were milling villages. Edinburgh has a long and proud history of producing incredible baked goods. We have a short list of great pastry places to stop.
Did you know Scotland makes award-winning cheeses? We work with both of the local cheese shops in Stockbridge: (1) George Mewes and (2) Mellis & Co. We will stop at one or both places to taste cheeses, highlighting the best of what is seasonally available, selecting the best cheeses, local charcuterie, and other Scottish treats.
These are some of the places we stop! We don't always stop at the same locations!
