In this activity guided by a professional wagashi decoration instructor, you will craft your own sakura flowers made of sweet bean paste using several different traditional techniques. You will start by shaping a beautiful pink sakura blossom through the method of nerikiri (hand kneading sweet bean paste). After that you will shape elegant sakura flowers from sweet bean paste using a piping bag. You will also master the art of icing decoration by drawing an image of Mt Fuji. The entire process of confectionary making will stimulate your creativity and artistic skills as you will arrange the decorations yourself onto a plate to form an impressive picture. At the end of the activity enjoy the sweets you made paired with a bowl of matcha tea.
