Meeting and pickup
By train: 5 minutes’ walk from Kyoto-Kawaramachi Station (Hankyu Kyoto Line). By train: 7 minutes’ walk from Gion-Shijo Station (Keihan Main Line). By subway: 10 minutes’ walk from Kyoto Shiyakusho-mae Station . The venue is located in central Kyoto, right next to the famous Kichi Kichi Omurice.
What to expect
• Guided meditation (5 minutes): Short breath-led practice to center the mind and open the senses for tea.
• Usucha service (10–15 minutes): Enjoy a bowl of lightly whisked matcha prepared with authentic utensils. Learn how to receive, rotate, and savor the bowl.
• Choose your path (20–30 minutes):• Tea ceremony mini-lesson:
Learn refined gestures (handling chawan, chasen, chashaku), sequence of preparation, seasonal themes, and the spirit of hospitality. You may try whisking under instructor guidance.
• Tasting experience:
Guided tasting of your choice—premium sake, a crafted cocktail, or specialty coffee—paired to complement matcha’s flavor profile. Includes aroma notes, origin stories, and ideal serving.
• Your included drink (10 minutes): Select one drink from the menu (tea, spirits, or coffee) to conclude, lingering in the intimate ambiance.
• Closing (5 minutes): Q&A, photo opportunity with utensils or at the counter, and recommendations for the rest of your Kyoto day.
