    Jebel Akhdar

From Birkat Al Mouz, continue by 4WD toward Jebel Akhdar, meaning “Green Mountain.” As you climb higher into the Hajar Mountains, the scenery changes dramatically, revealing rugged mountain peaks, deep valleys, terraced farms, and traditional villages. Jebel Akhdar is particularly known for its cooler climate, dramatic landscapes, and agricultural terraces. Enjoy spectacular panoramic viewpoints from the mountain and take time to photograph the surrounding scenery. Depending on the day’s schedule and local conditions, there may also be opportunities to see traditional mountain villages and agricultural terraces. The elevated mountain environment offers a refreshing contrast to the warmer lowlands around Muscat and Nizwa.
